Van Der Graaff

The Van Der Graff generator is a motorized object that charges object up to high voltages. When you place the aluminum pie plates on top of the generator they all receive the same charge and so they repel. A Van de Graaff generator is a device designed to create static electricity and make it available for experimentation. There are two types of Van de Graaff generators: one uses a high-voltage power supply for charging and one that uses belts and rollers for charging.
